How to create and edit a collection

The first step in working with collections is to create a new collection in the project and fill it with data.

Creating a Collection

To create a collection, follow the following steps:

1. Add a collection

Click on the Collections icon in the left panel of the editor.

In the opened panel, click the Add collection button.

If you already have created collections, click the New collection button.

2. Enter the collection name

Instead of the default name, type the name of your collection. For example, "Services”.

3. Add the necessary fields

Click the Add field button on the right side of the table.

By default, the collection already has the following fields:

Title — the name of the collection element/item. This field is mandatory.

Slug — the slug, which is responsible for generating the URL of dynamic pages.

These fields cannot be deleted, but their names can be changed.

To add a field, choose its type:

Text

Image

Link

Date

In the opened popup, enter the field name and select the necessary parameters.

For each field type, you can set the following parameters:

Enable the Add description option and enter the description text. This is a hint that will be displayed when adding items to the collection and is not used elsewhere.

Enable the Required field option.

Add a Default value for the field. Depending on the field type, this could be text, an image, a link, or a date.

Other parameters vary for different field types and allow you to set additional options.

In this popup, you can also:

Duplicate or delete the field by right-clicking on its name.

Edit other fields by switching between them on the left side of the window.

Add new fields by clicking the Add field button in the top right corner.

4. Add items to the collection

Click the Add element button at the bottom of the table or the New element button at the top right.

In the opened popup, enter the data into the fields.

Slug field is not required — by default, its value is created based on the Title field. If you want to manually set the slug for the item, fill in this field. If you leave it empty, it will be automatically generated after clicking the Save button.

Image field contains a settings icon. By clicking on it, you can set Alt and Title tags for the image.

Next, click the Save button. The element will be added to the table. Similarly, add all the other elements/items to the collection.

Editing Collection Elements

A collection element/item can be:

edited

duplicated

deleted

To do this, right-click on the item's row and select the desired option from the menu.

You can also open the element editing popup by simply clicking on the item's row.

In the editing popup, you can also duplicate or delete the item. To do this, click on the three dots in the upper-right corner and select the desired option.

All changes to the elements will immediately be reflected on the published website without the need for additional publishing.

Editing Collection Settings

To open the collection settings, click on the settings icon to the right of its name.

In the opened panel, you can:

Change Collection Name .

Update the Collection URL , which will be used to generate the URL for the index collection page and dynamic pages.

Delete or Duplicate the collection using the icons in the upper-right corner of the panel.
