Cookies on websites created with Taptop
What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small pieces of data stored in the user’s browser when they visit a website. They help, for example, to remember settings, collect visit statistics, or ensure the proper functioning of third-party services.
Does Taptop Add Cookies to User Websites?
By default, Taptop does not add third-party cookies to websites created on its platform. This means that unless you yourself integrate additional tools such as analytics, counters, or other third-party services, your website will not collect cookie data.
The only type of cookies used on Taptop sites are internal cookies for technical functioning (named “_sntnl”), which contain an anonymous user session identifier. These data do not allow identification of the visitor’s personal identity and are used solely to ensure the proper operation of the website.
When Can Cookies be Used on a Website?
If you integrate analytics, counters, or other tracking tools on your site, then cookies will be used. This means you have full control over which cookies are added to your website.
Cookies will be used if you personally connect third-party tools such as:
- Yandex.Metrica
- Google Analytics
- Online chat widgets
- Social media buttons
In these cases, you decide which cookies are used on your site. Taptop does not manage these services and does not collect user data.
Is It Necessary to Inform Users About Cookies?
If your website uses cookies, according to Russian laws (personal data protection legislation), you are required to:
- Notify users about data collection;
- Obtain their consent for cookie usage.
To comply, your website must display a special popup (banner) informing users about cookies.
Additionally, you should include information about cookies in your Privacy Policy, specifying:
- Which cookies you collect and why;
- A detailed list of cookies and their retention periods;
- How users can manage cookies (give or withdraw consent).
How to Check Which Cookies Your Website Collects?

-
Open the website you want to check in Incognito mode: press
Ctrl + Shift + N
or select New Incognito Window from the browser menu. -
Press
F12
orCtrl + Shift + I
