Creating a new project
If you don’t have any projects yet, you’ll see a corresponding message on the Dashboard. You can create a project by clicking the Create a website button. This will open an interface where you can add your project.
You can also create a project by using the Create a website button located in the top right corner of the Dashboard.
You can create a project from scratch or use one of the ready-made templates.
Creating a Project from a Template
A template is a sample of a well-thought-out design and an example of how to use elements and widgets.
To choose a template, select the creation type in the upper left corner: “Marketplace” or “My Team.”
By default, “Marketplace” is selected. Here you can choose from templates available to all Taptop users.
If you choose “My Team,” you’ll see templates that are only available to your team.
To create a site using a template, simply add your own images, text, and links.
Before selecting a template, you can preview its structure — what blocks and pages it includes. To do this, hover over the template and click Preview; the link will be opened in a new tab.
Once you've selected a template, click the Select button on its card. Then, come up with a name for your project and enter it in the pop-up window. To create the project, click New Project.
Wait while the project is being created — this may take a few minutes.
You can close the page — the completed project will appear on your Dashboard.
Creating a Project from Scratch
To create a project from scratch, hover over the Blank Project card and click the Select button.
The next steps are the same as when creating a project from a template — enter the project name and click the New Project button.
Project Card
All team projects are displayed on the Dashboard as project cards.
A project card includes:
- The project preview
- The project name
- The URL and publication status label: Blue label for published projects, Gray label for unpublished projects
- A plan label: Free (gray) for the free plan, Business (blue) for the hosting plan, Expired (red) if the hosting plan has ended. You can click the plan label to go to the Plans and Billing settings and change the plan.
- There is a dropdown menu (three dots) that contains project management options.
When you hover over a project card, you'll see two buttons that allow you to open the project in either Design Editor mode or Client Mode.
